Sharjah Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was formed in 1979 and we have been functioning in Sharjah with a
vision to encourage Worship, Study, Witness and Service. Yuvajana Sakhyam plays an active part in
Sharjah Marthoma Church and actively participates in all church activities, at the same time. We are
organizing our own charity project every year. We are conducting blood donations campaigns and the
money raised by this event is utilised for various charity projects in India.
Our regular meeting is being held in our Parish at 8.00PM every Saturday where all our youth members
come together to praise the Lord, discuss and study the spiritual scriptures under the leadership of
our Achen. We encourage and provide a place for the youth to use those talents and abilities to other
people. Human videos, singing, preaching and leading cell groups are a few ways that our youth stay
active in the ministry. Our various activities include Bible study, Biblical Discussion, singing,
cottage prayer, Chain Prayer Dedication, Testimony, Intercessory prayer and counselling. During
Christmas time, we conduct an Ecumenical Carol service where the choirs of different churches
participates and present their beautiful Christmas carols. We realise the growing need to lead others
to Christ in the campus and our youth are given that challenge daily and have responded.
We also conduct various competitions where our youths are given a chance to express their spiritual
talents. We make visits to labour camps, jail & hospitals and pray for the sufferers and the needy
there. Our talented youth's are committed to see God's message is delivered in a clear and
understanding way. We believe in the scandalous grace of God and make sure the message is assured in
the minds of the needy, that when life gets tough, He will be there for us, which in turn builds their
faith more stronger in Christ.
Also, an Onam Sadhya is held every year in a very traditional way to mark the festival and culture of
our homeland.
One of our major projects under implementation is "Angadicherrythattu", a village in Kannur district,
Kerala and spends around 20 lakhs Indian rupees for the total developments irrespective of any
religion or caste during the past four years and sponsoring the higher education of 25 poor students
and gave marriage aid to 25 poor girls.
Our youth will be good steward of what God has entrusted to us. We value relationships that are
created among youths. We understand that today's youth are searching for friendships to help them in
times of celebrations or sorrows. Proverbs 17:17 says "A friend loves at all times" and we are proud
to say that this biblical principle is followed in our youth group whether it's hanging out after a
Yuvajana Sakhyam meeting or attending an event like our Onam sadhya. We provide the opportunity for
friendship to exist and flourish in a Christian environment.
